Drive from Umatilla Reservation to Spokane Reservation in
Wellpinit, WA
Sleep is something we definitely do not get enough of on
this trip. I’ve consistently gotten less than 5 hours of sleep for the past
week, and I am dragging so, so much. It makes sense, we have a lot to do and a
lot of places to go. Plus, when it comes to the evenings, it’s a lot more fun
to stay up and spend time with each other than go to bed. But the 6:00 or 6:30
wake up calls are kicking our butts.
Today is another travel day, this time taking us from the
Umatilla Reservation in Oregon to the Wellpinit Reservation in Washington. At
this point, most of our day since we left Winex’s house has been spent at the
laundromat. And while it will be amazing (and I mean AMAZING) to have clean
clothes, it hasn’t been the most exciting of days.
Hopefully we’ll roll into Wellpinit before 8:00 tonight. I’m
actually really excited for this stop on the trip. According to the veteran
leaders on the trip, it’s always really well planned (which is important when
20 people have to get places on time) and is really interesting. We’ll be
working with fishery restoration.
